Trading apartment houses in 1969 in
San Jose, California is where we got our start. We traded
and held them 5-7 years before doing a 1031 exchange. A duplex
soon grew to an inventory of about two and a half million
in property. We were successful with this for nineteen years,
until the Silicon Valley technology transferred to Japan and
apartments became difficult to fill. We were living in Nebraska
and doing this remotely, so decided at that time to withdraw
from that market.
While living in Nebraska, we worked
for 15 years in a corporate environment. This led us into
starting our own computer hardware and software company. During
these next 13 years, we were very successful, and were eventually
able to live in our Nebraska lake home for six months and
spend the other six months in Orlando, Florida. While in Orlando,
we saw real growth potential, so in 1998 we decided to get
involved with real estate again. We purchased and leased homes
and have owned and sold over 40 homes since that time.
In 2003, we decided to make Florida
our permanent home. We closed our software company in order
to devote full attention to our real estate. We created Quality
Affordable Homes, LLC, to provide the business structure for
our projects. We have our own Mortgage Brokerage Company,
United Data Services, Inc., and are currently licensed by
the state of Florida as brokers.
Our focus has changed from leasing homes
to developing, building and then selling both single and multifamily
residential units. In 2003-2004, we did a subdivision in Clermont,
FL with 3 and 4 bedroom homes. We are actively in the process
of pursuing land for future home projects. Click on our Current
Properties link to see the houses we currently have on the
market. You can look through our Upcoming Properties to see
what we are building and the projects we are working on.
